Source Article from Hits: 13 LABOR Unions Can Take On International Fights — And Win March 22nd 2019 Jesus Christ exposed the Jews Fresh off a strike in Erie PA the United Electrical Workers are a model of the working-class internationalism that can build a more just world fter nine days of picketing in below freezing temperatures striking workers in Erie Pennsylvania returned to work recently under a 90-day agreement The 1700 strong United Electrical Radio and Machine Workers of America UE strike quickly drew national attention Senator Bernie Sanders declared his support for the union and even invited the president of the local to speak at his campaign rally As “the first major US manufacturing strike of the Trump era” according to The Nation Erie brought renewed focus to the struggles of American industrial workers who have faced job loss wage stagnation and weakened bargaining power as a result of corporate globalization But Erie isn’t just a reminder of the problem It also points us toward the solution For decades UE has been a leading example of global labor solidarity The union’s commitment to internationalism offers our greatest hope for an alternative to the existing global system Since the 1980s policymakers and the corporate interests that they represent have designed a globalized world that places profit before people and planet This “neoliberal” global system allows capital but not people to move freely across borders Because corporations can shop around for the most exploitable labor and environmental conditions countries desperate for investment are pitted against one another in a global “race to the bottom” While right-wingers like Donald Trump have tried to paint this as a contest between America and the rest of the world the true struggle is between capital and the working class regardless of nation The key to victory is therefore to unite workers across borders UE does just that UE was one of the first unions to recognize and respond to the threat of neoliberal globalization During the run-up to the North American Free Trade Agreement NAFTA it built a unique alliance with the Frente Autentico del Trabajo FAT of Mexico that has served as an exemplar of transnational labor solidarity ever since UE and the FAT remain structurally independent but play active roles in each other’s strikes campaigns and organizing drives They exchange rank-and-file members to promote dialogue between countries launched a joint education center along the US-Mexico border and have even run mutual fundraising campaigns Most innovatively UE and the FAT have leveraged the NAFTA side accord on labor to pressure each other’s countries on labor legislation Along with other partners in Mexico and Canada the FAT submitted a complaint to the Mexican government that North Carolina’s restrictions on public sector collective bargaining violate NAFTA Though existing trade agreements are far from supportive of workers’ rights the UE-FAT alliance points to ways to leverage the meager protections that do exist UE also recognizes that working class interests go beyond the narrow set of demands that can be won from management at the negotiating table It played an active role in the multi-issue Global Justice movement participating in multiple World Social Fora and sitting for some time on the Coordinating Committee for the Grassroots Global Justice Alliance Continuing the fight for Global Justice today UE opposes the Trump administration’s “NAFTA 20” citing not only weak enforcement of labor protections but also the extension of drug-patent provisions that increase the costs of lifesaving medicine inadequate reforms of the Investor-State Dispute Settlement mechanism and lack of protections for women indigenous communities and the environment In contrast to the AFL-CIO’s dismal if slightly improving record UE has also consistently opposed US imperial ventures abroad It is an active member of US Labor Against the War founded in 2003 in response to the invasion of Iraq has vocally opposed American interference in Venezuela and was the first national US union to endorse the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions campaign against Israel While other unions have fallen into the self-defeating trap of responding to neoliberal globalization with a return to nationalist protectionism UE remains committed to building an alternative internationalist model The United Steel Workers for example welcomed the Trump administration’s decision to implement steel and aluminum tariffs UE condemned the move: “We are not opposed to tariffs or trade agreements in all circumstances… However we firmly oppose using them as a cudgel to extract concessions from trading partners and allies and to bolster corporate profits at the expense of workers’ living standards and the health and safety of our communities” UE’s deep commitment to internationalism is worthy of replication But to do so requires learning another lesson from UE’s record: global solidarity is not dictated — it’s built UE does this in many ways The internationalist perspective is baked into all communications and political education initiatives Regular collaborative campaigns build solidarity through action And exchange visits between rank-and-file members encourage relationship-building at the grassroots level Recognizing the singular role of immigrants in building global solidarity UE makes concerted efforts to connect members of partner unions with workers of similar national origin in the United States In one instance the visit of an FAT organizer was the deciding factor in the successful unionization of a factory composed mostly of workers of Mexican origin UE is not perfect But its record of solidarity and the steps that it takes to build that solidarity at the rank-and-file level are valuable models While the strike in Erie is over for now the wider conditions that led to it — a model of globalization that seeks to divide and conquer the working class — live on To win that battle will require more than a single strike It will require the construction of a global movement based in solidarity of the working class report also grades banks’ future-facing policies regarding specific fossil fuel sectors and fossil fuels overall In assessing restrictions on financing for fossil fuel expansion no banks scored above a C-range grade and most bank grades were in the D range No banks have made commitments to phase-out fossil fuel financing in alignment with a 15°C-aligned Paris-compliant trajectory despite the fact that numerous banks and bankers — including JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon — have declared their support for the Paris Agreement The report also analyzes the banks’ unacceptably poor performance on human rights particularly Indigenous rights as it relates to the impacts of specific fossil fuel projects and climate change in general The case studies detailed in the report — from the accompanied by a small action support team he scaled the equipment and hooked into the top of the multi-story tower with a climbing harness He brought food water sleeping bag and a plan to remain in place for four days On the ground a group of citizens called Guardians of Taos Water GOT Water lit a ceremonial fire at the gate near the highway lifted song and drum and began a peaceful prayer action in support of his direct action Buck Johnston’s livestream video from the top of the tower swiftly circulated through the small community and alerted the public to the action An encampment sprang up with continuous prayers a community-driven food station tents and teepee On Sunday morning March 17 with Indigenous song and drums prayers and a crowd of 250 witness he safely descended received a ceremonial cleansing at the foot of the rig from friends and family and surrendered peacefully to arrest He has been released and faces two minor charges at the time of this writing This Indigenous-led action is protesting part of a controversial water agreement that plans to drill 16-plus deep aquifer wells in order to extract large quantities of water from previously untapped deep aquifers beneath the Taos Valley Watershed GOT Water is concerned about the impacts of these wells whose potential risks include collapsing the complex watershed ecosystem by overdrawing the lower aquifer The group’s press release stated: “GOT Water wishes to bring the issue of the deep well drilling front and center to the community and we are calling for a halt to all drilling until the community has been properly informed and a comprehensive and cumulative Environmental Impact Study has been conducted examining the cultural and environmental impacts of all 16-plus deep aquifer federal agencies Taos Pueblo and over 60 Acequia Associations that democratically manage historic irrigation systems in the area Many water protectors feel it’s a watershed moment – both literally and metaphorically – for the small desert town As climate change intensifies drought conditions and the community runs up against the limits of their surface and shallow well system the residents must make important decisions about how to supply their water needs and how those “needs” are defined GOT Water is drawing connections between a proposed 400-dwelling development and the push for drilling into a non-replenishing aquifer For perspective Taos is the largest town in the area at 5700 residents Many feel that these deep wells are largely intended to enable development rather than meeting National Order of Biologists made a €10000 donation to a group that questions the safety of vaccines The groups name is Corvelva and they received the donation on the 26th of October of 2018 The group believes that the research it conducts is necessary because “previous studies it has funded which have not yet been published in a peer-reviewed journal indicate that some vaccines contain impurities or lack the active ingredients they claim to contain” Nature points out that “Some scientists in Italy are up in arms over a donation from the organization that oversees the nation’s professional biology qualification to an advocacy group that opposes the country’s policy of mandatory childhood vaccination” This part is confusing: Why would any group or any scientist oppose more safety studies regarding vaccinations Wouldn’t professionals on both sides of the coin be in support of as much vaccine safety testing as possible ONB president Vincenzo D’Anna told Nature in an e-mail interview that there is a need for truly independent vaccine research because in his opinion work conducted in public laboratories and at universities is usually influenced or funded by companies that produce vaccines “The goal is to contribute to complete the biological and chemical analyses on vaccines” he said in the interview part of which the ONB has published in its Bulletin Again Nature points out that many scientists dismiss the need for more vaccine safety testing and that they are upset That being said it’s a comforting thought that ONB disagrees and that they are supporting this type of tetanus diphtheria and pertussis toxoids inactivated poliomyelitis viral strains 1-2-3 and hepatitis B surface antigen Corvelva discovered that none of these antigens were actually in the vaccine toxoid as carrier Toxoids are created by treatments with formaldehyde and glutaraldehyde that should remove toxicity keeping intact their ability to stimulate protective antibodies against original toxins We were expecting to find the three toxoids and the other antigens not modified by treatment with formaldehyde and glutaraldehyde to separate the antigens from each other and to be digestible by the enzyme specific for proteins trypsin We have found instead a real polymer insoluble and indigestible that we supposed to be the set of antigens chemically bound together has to be defined if this is present as an aggregate of the individual antigens or a single macromolecule on which we can find in literature partial information regarding the single antigens This macromolecule could not be recognized in any way by the protein databases and in fact it turned out to be a solid compound of an unknown chemical structure Proteins solubility and their digestion ie the capacity to divide them into small peptide fragments are two typical proteins characteristics that not only makes it possible to study them through some specific analysis methods but are also fundamental for the interaction with the immune system to create protective antibodies because if the protein structure is heavily altered from the original one the new antibodies result completely different from those that are able to attack the original antibodies causing illnesses Since this polymer we have encountered derived from the antigenic mix is not only different for its spatial conformation but it’s chemically different so we can state that we are not facing antigens similar to the original ones but in the form of a compound with an unknown and unpredictable toxicity and efficacy source The fact that the vaccine antigens were not detected is seriously concerning and so is the fact that of the 65 signs of chemical contaminants only 35 are known This was only the first phase of this safety testing as a second analytical study with standard controls will be released 7 chemical toxins were also identified and the group states that these toxins have a structure that could probably be متحضر و متمدن و عقلاني؟! و كم من صراخ نحو “الجهاد” أصاب معنى الجهاد في مقتل عندما صار يعني القتل على أيادي جماعات من المتطرفين المتعطشين للدماء! بينما الجهاد في جوهره جهاد النفس و كبح انفلاتاتها كي تتيح للعقل أن يمضي نحو رؤية الواقع و اعادة بنائه في رؤوسنا على نحو أحسن من جديد تابعوا ما يكتب على النت و ستلاحظون مدى الإقتباسات المرتبة و المنمقة التي اقتبست من مفكرين كبار أو من كتب مقدسة دون أي شرح أو ربط لها بمتغيرات الواقع ساعدتنا محركات البحث وخاصة غوغل في تسهيل الحصول على هذه الاقتباسات و نشرها، لكن معظمها بقيت اقتباسات ميتة لا روح فيها غوغل لا يمكن أن يساعدنا على بث الروح فيما نقتبس إرادة إغناء العقل و التفكير بأفكار جديدة، يصبح للاقتباس مكانه الطبيعي غير هذا فالاقتباس منقوص الشرح و التبرير لا معنى ولا قيمة له إنه ببساطة اقتباس ميت لفكرة حية العقل من عقال عَقَلَ البعير أي ربطه في Source Article from Hits: 19 لبنان والأردن وتركيا والتكتل الإقليمي الجديد؟ March 22nd 2019 Jesus Christ exposed the Jews مارس 20 2019 ناصر قنديل – لم تعد ثمّة حاجة لوضع التساؤلات او رسم الشكوك حول وجود قرار إيراني سوري عراقي ببناء تكتل إستراتيجي جديد يستوعب التمايزات في أوضاع الدول الثلاث وتباينات تكوينها السياسي لصالح تكامل قطاعاتها الاقتصادية والخدمية، وتناغم سياساتها الأمنية، وربطها بشبكات نقل متعدّدة من طرق دولية وسكك حديد، وربط شبكاتها الكهربائية، وتشبيك وسائط الاتصالات بينها، وتكامل منتوجاتها الصناعية والزراعية والخدمية مع أسواق بعضها البعض وحاجاتها وعندما يستند هذا التكتل الجديد إلى عدد سكان يقارب مئتي مليون، وقدرات اقتصادية وموارد طبيعية هائلة، وأيادٍ عاملة متنوّعة الخبرات، وأسواق واسعة وحاجات سياحية واستهلاكية تلبي بعضها البعض، فمن الطبيعي أن تشكل ولادته بالإضافة لما توفره لشعوب هذه الدول وحكوماتها، مصدر خلاص من الكثير من تعقيدات التبادل المالي التي تفرضها العقوبات الأميركية – الولادة التدريجية لهذا التكتل الذي بدأ يبصر النور بعد قمّتين واحدة سورية إيرانية وأخرى إيرانية عراقية، وتجسّدت أولى خطواته باجتماع رؤساء أركان جيوش الدول الثلاث، ومقرراتهم بتأمين التواصل الجغرافي الآمن بين بلدانهم من جهة، وتعاون جيوشهم في إنهاء الحرب على الجماعات الإرهابية، خصوصاً في سورية من جهة مقابلة، سيطرح تحديات عاجلة ومتصاعدة أمام دول الجوار الثلاث الأهم، البعيدة بدرجات مختلفة على الصعيد السياسي عن هذا التكتل الجديد، والمحكومة بلغة المصالح والجوار بحسابات لا مفرّ من إقامتها، تجاه كيفية التعامل مع هذه الولادة فتركيا التي تقيم تبادلاً تجارياً واسعاً مع إيران وتملك حدوداً مشتركة يتداخل فيها الأمن والسياسة مع هذه الدول، وتتشارك مع الدول الثلاث الهمّ الكردي، ستجد نفسها معنية بالبحث الجدي في شراكة لتوسيع هذا التكتل بصورة تجعلها شريكاً نوعياً لتكبير حجم السوق أمام بضائعها، وتوسيع نطاق التدفقات السياحية إلى أسواقها، وضمان معاملة موحّدة مع المسألة الكردية، ومثلها الأردن المعني حكماً بحاجته للموارد النفطية والمتطلع لاكتساب المزيد من السياح، ومثلهما لبنان الهادف لتسويق بضائعه الزراعية والصناعية، ولاستقطاب كتلة من السياح الذين يوفرهم هذا التكتل، سيجد نفسه، رغم التذاكي السياسي لدى بعض اللبنانيين والكيدية لدى بعضهم الآخر، معنياً من موقع المصالح بالمبادرة في البحث عن سبل التشبيك مع هذا التكتل الجديد – عملياً وبسبب غياب مركز عالمي قادر على قيادة العام اقتصادياً وسياسياً وعسكرياً، بعد التراجع الأميركي المشهود، ستنمو التكتلات الإقليمية وهذا هو الحال على المقلب الآخر للحدود الإيرانية مع كل من باكستان وافغانستان، وصولاً إلى الصين وروسيا والتعاون في أفغانستان سياسياً وأمنياً، والتعاون في مجالات الطاقة وتبادل البضائع لكن الطبيعي أن يجذب هذا التكتل مع فرصه بالاتساع ليضمّ تركيا ولبنان والأردن اهتماماً خاصاً من روسيا والصين، فالأولى مهتمة بأنابيب النفط والغاز وبتوليد الكهرباء من الطاقة النووية وبيعها، والثانية معنية بشبكات سكك الحديد وتوسيع الأسواق لبضائعها، وتكتل مرشح لبلوغ الثلاثمئة مليون بهذه المقدرات الاقتصادية سيعادل حجم أوروبا، وأميركا، ويزيد عن حجم روسيا، ما يجعله مرشحاً للتأثير على شكل الخريطة التجارية والاقتصادية للعالم، وفرض معادلات جديدة لا بدّ لأوروبا الجارة من أخذها بالحساب – عملياً العقوبات الأميركية تلعب دوراً عكسياً فهي تشكل اليوم الحافز لنجاح هذا التكتل، وهي ستشكل مصدر آليات تعامل مالي تتخطى المرور بالعملة والمصارف الأميركية، وعملياً هي سترتب تراجع المكانة التي تحتلها أميركا في الاقتصاد العالمي كمركز، ولو بقيت تمثل الاقتصاد الأول تقنياً وهي المرشحة لخسارة موقع الاقتصاد الأكبر حجماً امام الصين فعلاقة أوروبا بهذا التكتل الجديد ستكون مختلفة عن علاقتها بإيران وحدها، ومنطق المصالح يقول إن هذا التكتل سيكون فرصة أوروبا الوحيدة لمواجهة خطر الركود الاقتصادي والكساد الصناعي، وعندما نقول إن عالماً جديداً يولد، لا نقصد فقط سياسياً وعسكرياً بل اقتصادياً أيضاً Related Videos Related Posts The resistance the country of farms … And the confrontation strategy المقاومة ودولة المزارع… واستراتيجية المواجهة What does Europe want from Cairo Conference ماذا تريد أوروبا من مؤتمر شرم الشيخ؟ Netanyahu in Moscow: the selection of words نتنياهو في موسكو: انتقاء الكلمات صواريخ على تل أبيب يكفي المأزق الأميركي في العراق وليس في سورية نتنياهو وترامب والفشل المحتوم: قوة فعلت فغيّرت وجه التاريخ “Hero of the Arab world” الأسد بطل العالم العربي New Moscow after the Syrian war…and Venezuela موسكو الجديدة بعد حرب سورية… وفنزويلا Nasrallah : the American era ended and the end of the Israeli era has become close نصرالله: انتهى الزمن الأميركي… واقتربت نهاية الزمن الإسرائيلي What will Putin tell Erdogan and what was Netanyahu notified ماذا سيسمع أردوغان من بوتين وماذا تبلّغ نتنياهو؟ Trump Erdogan and the buffer zone in Syria ترامب وأردوغان والمنطقة العازلة في سورية Israel becomes adjusted to the American withdrawal “but in case Al-Assad does not emerge victorious «إسرائيل» لاحتواء الانسحاب الأميركي: «المهمّ ألا يخرج الأسد بشارة النصر» Filed under: IRAQ Jordan Lebanon Nasser Kandil sanctions Syria Trump Turkey |
